Last updated: 2 August 2026 · Applies to the RC Model Utility iOS app
RC Model Utility (“the app”) is developed by Rynthora (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app handles and why. In short: the app stores your data on your own device and does not send your personal information to us.
Summary
- We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- Your aircraft data, photos, weighings, and logs are stored locally on your device.
- The app makes only two kinds of outbound network requests, both described below.
Data stored on your device
All content you create in the app — aircraft profiles, control-surface and servo setups, center-of-gravity profiles, weighing history, flight logs, checklists, notes, and photos — is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to it. If you delete the app, this data is removed from the device.
Location
If you choose to use the weather features, the app requests your location (“when in use”) to show current conditions at your flying site. Your coordinates are sent to the Open-Meteo weather service (open-meteo.com) solely to retrieve a forecast for that location. No account is required, the request is not linked to your identity, and we do not store your location on our servers. You can decline the location permission and enter or pick a location manually instead.
Local network
If you use a RynthoraCG center-of-gravity scale, the app communicates with that device over your local Wi-Fi network to read live weight and balance measurements. This communication stays on your local network between your device and the scale. No measurement data is transmitted to Rynthora or any third party.
Camera and photos
If you add a photo to an aircraft profile, the app uses your camera or photo library only to attach that image to the model. Photos you add are stored locally with your aircraft data and are not uploaded to us.
Third-party services
The only third-party service the app contacts is Open-Meteo, used for weather data as described above. Open-Meteo’s handling of requests is governed by its own terms; the app sends only the coordinates needed for a forecast.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised version on this page.
